Large oval tables supported on a pillar began to be popular for informal, or family, meals-breakfast, or suppers towards the end of the eighteenth century.
This Oval Mahogany Till Top table is enhanced with ebony inlaying and a wide section of cross-banding and measures 148cm x 64cm, stands on a pillar with four legs on plain rectangular brass feet caps and casters at a height of 55cm.
The table is in good condition, with a nice rich warm colour tone. There are a few light superficial scratches that do not effect the look of the surface.
